ABOUT MUMBAI

Mumbai, formerly Bombay, is the commercial and entertainment centre of India. It is home to important financial institutions such as the Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay Stock Exchange, the National Stock Exchange of India and the corporate headquarters of numerous Indian companies and multinational corporations. As of 2008, the Globalization and World Cities Study Group (GaWC) has ranked Mumbai as an "Alpha world city", third in its categories of Global cities. Mumbai's temperature in September generally ranges from 26° C to 36° C. Indian Standard Time is 5 hours 30 minutes (+ 5:30 hrs) ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The period between September and February is the most pleasant time to visit Mumbai, when the city enjoys a balmy season of blue skies and a cool breeze. This is the time when the city weather conditions are very favorable to visitors.
